How To NOT Give Up

Through many journeys, and projects in my life I’ve always been the one to give up. I’m not a follow througher kind of person. I can’t tell you how many times this has happened, and let’s not get into details, because you would be reading for hours. Maybe even days.

The thing is, I don’t want to give up this time. I want to see this through, because that little voice inside my head says, “I can do this”.

What I did, is put together this list for you letting you know the tips and tricks I have personally done to not give up on myself again.

  1. 1. COMMIT

Honestly, I can’t tell you how important this is. You must keep at this every day. Each day I get up, and I must recommit myself to this journey, because some days I get out of that bed, and I think to myself “Girl, WTF are you doing”.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, I don’t know what I’m doing people, but I’m gonna give it hell. This isn’t a damn game anymore. We must make that decision where we can’t go back. There’s no going back, this is it. Get in there, and just do the damn thing already.

  1. CONTROL Your Self Talk

This is so important guys. We must control our thoughts. What are we saying to ourselves in that mind of ours? Are we belittling ourselves? Are we telling ourselves we can’t do it? Control that crap now before it gets out of hand.

I have adopted a sound I make in my head when I begin to have nasty self-talks. That sound goes a little something like this… BBBBOOONNNKKKK.

Yep that’s it. That’s what I do in my head when I start to say bad crap to myself, and fill my head full of nonsense, because you know what? I can do this. We can do this. Control that Self Talk y’all.

  1. 3. Be REALISTIC

Yall there is no such thing as get rich schemes that don’t involve getting a nice cozy cot in a 4×4 cell. If there is, then I was wrong, and I’m sorry, but for now let’s stick with being real. We aren’t going to get rich over-night. If you’re working your butt off hard for something it’s probably something you love anyways, and the money will come. We must remember to slow down, and enjoy the process. This is something I struggle with. I’m not perfect. No-one is, but we must try to take our time and enjoy it. Hard work does pay off, but for now let’s stick with being real with ourselves.

 4. STOP Making Excuses

Why do we have to stop making excuses, they are so fun right? Wrong!!!

I can think, and do think of a million different things I would rather be doing than going home after I get off work, and trying to figure out this blogging stuff again, but I don’t. I get my ass off the couch, I cut the damn TV off, and I get to WORK. The moment I decided that this is important to me, and I stopped giving myself permission to slack off, I began enjoying it. It’s hard, yes, but it must be done. No one else is gonna come in and say, “Hey there girl, you want me to do that for you?” It’s not gonna happen. Stop the excuses. Do it for you.

  1. You MUST Have a WHY

If you don’t have a reason to keep going, then you won’t. It’s as simple as that. The “why” is the most important part of this. What are you doing it for? Why are you pushing yourself so hard? Why are you getting off work, and working late nights on your dreams? I know what my why is, and I’m going to live my dream life. Life is too short people, Find your why, or why’s. Some of you may have more than one. I know I do. This is crucial. This step must be done. Make a list now of the reasons you are working your butt off day and night to live your dream life.
